Yes, the best promotions are always available on our website start-rentacar.banregio.com.

Is it possible to book a particular car model?

Unfortunately no. However, we can guarantee the price you booked. If the vehicle you booked is not available we will upgrade to the next car category.

Do I need a credit card to book a car?

Start Rent A Car does not require a credit card to book through our call center or online at start-rentacar.banregio.com. However, a credit card will be requested at the time of pick-up.

How do I cancel a reservation?

If your reservation was confirmed directly with our phone representatives or thru our website, please use the same channel to cancel it. Start Rent a Car does not charge for cancellations but we will thank you if you notify us in case your plans change. If your booking was made through a third party website, please review their site policy to avoid cancellation charges.

What is the minimum age to rent a car?

The minimum age to rent a car in Mexico is 18. Renters between 18 and 25 will be charge with an additional $10.00 USD per day plus taxes.

Where is Start Rent a Car located?

Start Rent a Car is located on the major airports and cities in Mexico. For more information please go to the "LOCATIONS" section.

What type of vehicles are offered?

Start Rent a Car offers a wide range of vehicles for all your rental needs, from economy to convertibles, SUV's and VAN's. For more information please go to the "DRIVE IN" section.

Can I pick up the car at one location and drop it off in another?

Yes, a drop off fee will apply depending the pick-up and drop-off locations.

Do I need to leave a deposit to rent a car?

Yes. If you reserved through our website for a location in Mexico, your rate includes more benefits and the required deposit will be of $10,000.00 pesos. If the Total Coverage (CT) was selected, your deposit will be just $1,500.00 pesos. For Premium SUV category vehicles (Chevrolet Suburban or Similar) it is required to grant a credit card approval of $15,000.00 MXN

Can I drive the vehicle out from the state which I rented the car?

Yes, within Mexico you can drive between states. If you rent the car outside Mexico City and want to drive it there, please notify our call center in advance so we can provide you with a vehicle that comply with the Mexico City traffic regulations. If you rent the vehicle in Mexico you can also drive into the United States with the anticipated recruitment of our United States insurance coverage (USI). If you rent the vehicle on the U.S. you cannot cross over to Mexico. For the moment, vehicles cannot cross the border to southern countries.

How does the rent fee is calculated?

The fee is based on 24 hours periods. You will have 1 hour as courtesy at the time you return the vehicle.

Does the cost of my rent include fuel?

Start Rent a Car fee's does not include fuel. Vehicles must be returned with the same amount of fuel as at the start of rental to avoid refueling charges.

Do I have any tolerance at the time that I return the car?

The rent is for a period of 24 hours. You do have 1 hour courtesy to return the car. After that time you will be charged for another rental day.



Insurances & Add-ons



What insurances and waivers are offered at the time of rental?

If you are renting within Mexico, you will have the option to select our Total Coverage (CT). Please read our terms & conditions regarding insurances and waivers for more information.

Is it necessary to include an insurance to rent a car in Mexico?

No. All of our rates within Mexico includes third party liability up to $750,000.00 MXN (RLP) and coverage for the vehicle rented in case of an accident or total theft, with a 10% deductible (CDW). If you rent the car in another country, please read the terms and conditions for that country in particular.

Is my particular insurance effective in case of an accident?

We recommend to call directly to your insurance provider for more information.

What is the cost for a child seat?

Child seats are $5.99 USD per day plus taxes each.

Can I include a GPS/WiFi at the time of rental?

Yes. Different TravelTab units are available from $11.99 up to $21.99 USD per day plus taxes.

Can somebody else drive the car I rent?

Yes, additional drivers must comply with the same initial requirements (Valid Driver's licence and ID). Additional drivers are $3.99 USD per day plus taxes each.

Does the credit card and the driver's license need to be under the same name?

Yes. Start Rent A Car requires that the driver's licence name and the credit card used for the deposit match in order to proceed with the rental.

What happens if I do not return the car on the same date that was originally signed?

Please call to our toll free number +52 (81) 2085 8199 and ask for an extension on the agreement to avoid phone calls and emails asking you to return the vehicle and avoid delay return charges.

What should I do if I have troubles with the car?

Call immediately to +52 (81) 2085 8199.

What should I do if I have an accident?

Call immediately to +52 (81) 2085 8199.

What should I do if I get a flat tire?

Drive to a safe location and switch the tire for the spare one. You can also call +52 (81) 2085 8199 for assistance.

What should I do if I accidently left the car keys inside the vehicle?

Please call immediately to +52 (81) 2085 8199. The client will be responsible for the additional charges this may incurr.

Lost Keys

Call immediately to +52 (81) 2085 8199 to find out how you can get a duplicate. Most of our cars are brand new, so to create a duplicate will take a sophisticated procedure and the assistance of the dealership. The charges will be full responsibility of the client.

Does Start Rent A Car offer roadside assistance?

Yes. Start Rent A Car can provide roadside assistance by calling to +52 (81) 2085 8199. Additional charges may apply. We recommend you to purchase our roadside assistance service (RSA) at the moment you pick up the car.

What should I do if the car run out of fuel?

It is client's responsibility to re-fuel the vehicle. If you require assistance please call to +52 (81) 2085 8199.



After My Rental



How can I get a copy of the rental agreement?

To obtain a copy of your rental agreement please call +52 (81) 2085 8199. You can also contact us via email: customer.care@mexrentacar.com.

Does Start Rent A Car have a forgotten items department?

If you forgot any item on the vehicle that was just delivered, make sure you call directly to the local office or to the number +52 (81) 2085 8199. We recommend to call immediately to report your forgotten items and we will do our best to find them. From our behalf, we are not responsible for any forgotten item, so we highly recommend you check the vehicle before drop off.

How long does the forgotten items remain on Start Rent A Car offices?

Our policy marks 30 days after the item was found.
